Construction Timeline

Since the late 1990s, the County of Maui has been working to build a new parking structure to meet a large part of the parking demand in Wailuku Town. When the new four-level parking structure replaces the old municipal parking lot it will double the amount of parking to 393 stalls. The new parking facility will also be designed with the capability to host events such as food-truck rallies, farmer’s markets, festivals, and other outdoor events.

Since September 2020, the MIRA Image Construction crews have been working diligently on infrastructure upgrades on Lower W. Vineyard Street. These much-needed upgrades include road improvements, new sidewalks, water and sewer lines, drainage systems, and the undergrounding of the existing overhead electrical and communication lines. Currently, temporary lane closures are in effect on Upper Vineyard Street between Church and High Street, where similar road infrastructure improvements are being made. Motorists are advised to drive with caution in the area.

Church Street has a new look! Thanks to various infrastructure upgrades that include: road improvements, new sidewalks, water and sewer lines, drainage systems, overhead power and telecom lines placed underground, street trees planted, and traffic signal added at intersection of Main and Church Streets.
